Diesel Rises 2.6¢ to $2.696 as Price Continues to Increase

For the second week in a row, drivers in 2021 are seeing higher diesel prices as the nationwide cost of trucking’s main fuel ticked up, as it did during the last weeks of 2020, the Energy Information Administration reported Jan. 18.

The price of diesel notched a 2.6-cent increase, rising in all 10 regions EIA surveys.

Trucking’s primary fuel now costs $2.696, up from $2.67, but still 34.1 cents less expensive than a year ago.
