Trade imbalance, strong dollar dim luster in trans-Atlantic trade

The trans-Atlantic built on its reputation as one of the few reliable trades in a troubled container shipping market in 2015, but it faces tough challenges this year that might tarnish its image. The low-profile routes between Europe and North America were even more overshadowed by the headline-grabbing Asia-Europe trade that will account for a large chunk of the $5 billion-loss carriers are expected to rack up this year.
