High US industrial real estate absorption forecast for one more year

Despite unexpected volatility in the first few weeks of 2016, Cushman & Wakefield anticipates one more year of strong absorption of industrial real estate space before demand in the warehouse and distribution sector slows down.This projection for 2016 follows an especially positive report on the fourth quarter-2015 warehouse and distribution industry. U.S. industrial markets absorbed 62.9 million square feet of space in last year’s fourth quarter, an increase of 9.1 percent from the third quarter of 2015 and up 0.5 percent from the fourth quarter of 2014.
