Price of diesel up 3.6 cents based on huge increases in states struck by winter storms

The average on-highway price of a gallon of diesel is slowly creeping back toward the $3 mark, and the weather may well have something to do with it.

According to the Energy Information Administration of the Department of Energy, the average price increased 3.6 cents to $2.936 a gallon for the week ending March 2.
