Our History:
Mark VII was founded as an intermodal and truck brokerage company. Over the years, LTL and additional services such as ocean and air were added due to customer demand.
MSAS Global Logistics acquired Mark VII. Mark VII was interested in using the MSAS connection for its customers with international business needs; MSAS, in turn, was attracted to Mark VII's strong agent network and multi-modal capacity for the door-to-door delivery of its global shipments in the United States.
Ocean Group (MSAS's parent company) merged with Exel to form a global logistics powerhouse. The merger combined MSAS's ability to offer effective global coverage with Exel's expertise in developing and implementing complex solutions for clients. The result was a supply chain solutions capability, and the ability to deploy it almost anywhere in the world.

Exel changed the name of its transportation brokerage function to Exel Transportation
Exel Transportation launched their state-of-the-art, internet-based, real-time transportation management system, TRITAN™ (Transportation Resource Integration & Tactical Analysis Network). One system that handles all of Truckload, Less than Truckload, Intermodal & Rail freight movements.
Exel Transportation became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hub Group, operating independently under the name Mode Transportation.
